Day 4 - NY Road Trip

Well, this post will be mostly pictures. When you get up close with a multitude of cute, colorful farm animals, you tend to get a little snap happy....well, at least I do anyway! On Sunday, Brad and I took the kids to the Franklin County Fair in Malone. It was the last weekend of the fair, and it's been an annual tradition in the area for 168 years. I was expecting an itty bitty country fair, but it was a good size, with lots to do. They have concerts, tractor pulls, 4H competitions, loads of food, amusement rides, game booths, etc....just to name a few. After getting our tickets, Serenity and I made a beeline for the animal barns. Brad and Strider went with us into the poultry barn, but Strider only lasted 3 minutes before Brad took him out because it was too noisy for him to handle. It was a long barn filled with clucks, quacks, honks, cocka-doodle-doos, gobbles, and lord knows what else! It was every domestic bird imaginable, along with  some mor...

Day 3 - NY Road Trip 2018

Yesterday was our first full day visiting family in Malone. In the morning, I took the kids down to the hotel breakfast buffet. The food was yummy, and included fresh Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. The kids were a big fan of all of it....the fluffy scrambled eggs, the fruit, the cereal, etc... We have yet to hit the indoor pool, but we'll go in it at some point, or else I'll never hear the end of it. The kids are asking me multiple times a day!!   After breakfast, we did a trip to Walmart for ingredients, and then we headed over to Mom's (Angie) house to hang out for the day. I got started right away on making coffee cream cheese cupcakes. It was my way to show some love (through baking), and it also keep me busy, since I don't stay idle very well. The cupcakes came out pretty good, and they were much appreciated by everyone. Brad attempted to fix Mom's carpet cleaner, but it wasn't going to work without some major surgery beyond what could be done at that...
